Plasback Waimate - Recycling Plastics Serving South Canterbury & Otago
Plasback Waimate are looking for a reliable, motivated Class 4 or 5 Driver/Operations Team Member to join our small, hard-working team. We’re looking for someone who enjoys a varied, hands-on roll and takes pride in delivering great service to our rural customers.
The ideal candidate will be available to work a minimum of 32 hours per week, with hours to be discussed at the interview stage. We can offer some flexibility with start and finish times for the right person. If you’re looking for fewer hours, we’d still love to hear from you, as we may be able to accommodate the right applicant.
About the Role
This is a varied position involving:
Farm plastics collection runs throughout Waimate, Oamaru, South Canterbury and North Otago
A regular weekly Christchurch run
Safe operation of company trucks and equipment
Loading, unloading and handling bales and bags
Completing run sheets, basic paperwork and reporting
Delivering products to customers
General yard duties and assisting with day-to-day operations
Providing friendly, professional service to farmers, contractors and customers
What YOu WILL NEED
A current NZ Class 4 or 5 driver’s license (or be close to obtaining one)
Good level of physical fitness, as the role involves manual handling and lifting
A reliable work ethic with strong time management
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
Commitment to working safely
Rural, transport, farming or machinery experience is an advantage, but not essential
WHAT WE OFFER

Minimum of 32 hours per week, with additional hours available during busy periods
Some flexibility with working hours by agreement
