 Irrigation Scheme Operator

An overview of Performance Expectations is as follows. 

Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of:

• The company’s network of pipes and races.

• The NIWA telemetry system that controls the network.

• The methods by which water flows are regulated.

• Work with the Operations Team to ensure the 24hr operation of the irrigation scheme during the irrigation season.

• Assist in the management and operation of monitoring equipment to ensure that the daily water supply requirements are met.

• Contribute to scheme maintenance programme planning.

• Undertake routine scheme maintenance including spraying and cleaning.

• Undertake monitoring, maintenance, and repair of pump systems.

• Keep accurate records of asset performance and condition using spreadsheets and/or software systems.

• Water take and use reporting.
