This highly rewarding role’s purpose is to provide sales and business support with the aim of the individual progressing into the role of real estate agent. Our associate program will provide a base position that will allow the individual to learn the skills required with the support of our existing salespeople and the comfort of a steady income before they make the move to a full commission real estate agent. The applicant will oversee the systems and admin associated with making a salesperson or sales team perform to a high level. It is important to ensure the salespeople are spending most of their time generating new business and selling properties on their stock list.

Note: The following depends on the real estate licence status of the individual. The first six months of the role will be primarily centred on new business generation and viewings with buyers. The individual won’t be expected to manage contracts or conduct offers with buyers unless supervised (and suitably licensed). The business of real estate can be overwhelming at first, for this reason initially the role focuses on the following:

• The associate will first learn by generating leads which they will take a listing agent to. The listing agent will run the process with the associate, enabling them to learn. The associate will be involved in the process upon successfully listing the property.

• Once the associate is inducted, they will also be carrying out buyer inspections and open homes.

Our objective is to help the associate graduate to listing agent as soon as possible, this exact time frame will vary between individuals. As the associate progresses, we will work with them on a plan to progress to a listing agent, taking more and more responsibility.

Main tasks Core objectives include: • Generating appointments for existing salespeople. • Buyer inspections. • Assist with property viewings/open homes, including placement of signs, maintaining appearance, maintaining attendee lists, and opening and closing viewings. • Database management. • Learning and executing the basics of marketing. • Distribution of marketing material. • Assist with administrative tasks as required. • Following up enquiries from prospective sellers and buyers. • Collating data for salespeople. • Preparing agreements. • Preparing properties for market and dealing with clients regarding preparation of marketing. • AML/CFT CDD verification of clients. • Booking in regular vendor meetings with clients. • Dealing with property enquiry and booking in viewings for salespeople. • Open homes (occasionally). • Database management. • Working with the salesperson or team to action personal marketing plans. • Creating procedures and templates to automate and streamline all areas of the sale process.

The above list is not exhaustive, and the role may change to meet the overall objectives of the company.

Qualifications Either have or be working towards having a: • New Zealand Certificate in Real Estate (Salesperson) (Level 4), or • National Certificate in Real Estate (Salesperson) (Level 4). • If qualified, have a current NZ Real Estate Salesperson Licence. Experience • Prior experience in customer service roles is desirable. Knowledge • Local knowledge highly regarded.
