This position is for the 1150 cow farm, 280 ha block. The farm has a 60-bail rotary with ACRs and Protrack and in-shed feeding.
Using modern technology is a key driver to ensuring management of an efficient and effective farming system. Halter is on the cows for pasture allocation, feed budgeting and health monitoring and mating.
With the support of the Operations Manager the assistant farm manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of this block.
To be successful in this role you will need very good knowledge of feed and pasture management, excellent stock management skills and staff management. Therefore, you will need to have strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Experience required is a minimum of 3 years dairy farming experience in New Zealand.
Roster for the 8 week spring period will be 8 days on 2 days off, 8 days on 3 days off, thereafter 11 days on 3 days off.
Accommodation is 3 bedroom brick family home with a logfire and heat pump. Starlink internet is supplied and firewood available.
