We’re seeking an experienced Chef to lead our kitchen team! Location Canterbury region Position Type Permanent Hours of work Full time, Min – 30 hrs per week, Monday – Sunday (Rostered) Pay rate= $25 to $35 per hour depending on the experience. Length of work experience = 2 + years knowledge of Indian and Nepalese cuisine. Duties and Responsibilities Job Description

  • Be responsible for all restaurant service attributes on a day-to-day basis.

  • Plan menus, estimate food and human resource required

  • Minimize food wastage and increase profitability

  • Maintain costs to establishment standards.

  • Discuss the menu with the manager and other restaurant staff.

  • Order food supplies and check the freshness of food and ingredients.

  • Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.

  • Discussing the customer feedback/complaints with the manager and kitchen staff and respond to the complaints.

  • Be responsible for imparting knowledge, skills and trainings to kitchen staff members.

  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality.

  • Demonstrate kitchen staff the cooking techniques and procedures.

  • Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen to achieve the high standard of food hygiene and health and safety of the staff.
