Seasonal Arable Farm Hand

Hurst Partnership is a 700ha arable farm located in Makikihi (20 mins south of Timaru, approx 2 1/2 hours south of Christchurch).

We grow a range of crops including wheat, grass seeds and brassicas. We run a modern fleet of John Deere tractors with RTK steering and a CR 9.90 New Holland combine with a 35ft Draper front.

We are seeking a motivated and reliable person with a positive ‘can do’ attitude to assist us over our busy harvest period.

We're looking for someone who:

Has experience on an arable farm or operating agricultural machinery.
Is reliable and capable of working independently and as part of a small team.
Confident in working with modern farming technology and software, including GPS systems and precision agriculture tools.
Is available and willing to work long hours during peak harvest. This is very important to us.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

Operation and maintenance of farm machinery and cultivation equipment
Assisting with our arable harvest and planting of crops
General farm work
Raking/baling/carting straw

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid work visa. A Class 1 Driver’s License is essential, and a Class 4 would be great but is not essential.

Commencement date will ideally be mid January until late April 2026 and remuneration will be competitive and reflect experience. There may be an opportunity for longer term or permanent work.
