An exciting opportunity has become available for a highly motivated person to join our agricultural boom spraying division. This is a permanent position based in Waimate, South Canterbury. This position may be structured as a seasonal role based on the applicant's preference and availability.
Variety is the spice of life and in this job there is plenty of it. We work with small to large clients – dairy, cropping and stock farmers; and on varying terrain - flat land by the sea to the hills. Waimate is centrally located and accessible to beaches, mountains, lakes and rivers. The town and surroundings are thriving with several schools, many clubs & societies and an active community with many annual events.
Alexander Spraying Ltd is a family-owned agricultural contracting business. The spraying division offers a Bateman self propelled sprayer and 4 Isuzu trucks. We also provide drilling and cultivation services to our clients. We additionally run a cropping and sheep/cattle farm. When spraying is quiet there will be work on the farm, machinery maintenance and tractor work available. This is a permanent full time position but will consider a part time seasonal operator if that suits the right person better.

We are looking for a candidate who:
Is a team player and who will relate well to our clients
Has attention to detail
Has a clear understanding of the importance of safety procedures, and the ability to follow them
Is willing to put in longer hours over Summer
Is good with numbers and has technical / IT awareness
Has a background in boom spraying and machinery*
Chemical Handler’s Certificate*
Has a class 2 or greater driver’s license*
Has NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa
*These are an advantage, but not essential as full training and certification can be provided
